Why Miami Has a Mosquito Problem
Miami's tropical climate, year-round rainfall, and dense vegetation make it one of the most mosquito-heavy environments in the United States. Miami-Dade is also home to Aedes aegypti — the species responsible for Zika, dengue, and chikungunya transmission. Even outside of disease concerns, mosquitoes destroy backyard enjoyment from May through November.
Mosquito Bait Station Program — $75–$150/month
We use the In2Care bait station system — a CDC-recognized "lethal-house lure" technology. Each station mimics a perfect mosquito breeding site, attracts female Aedes aegypti, contaminates them with biological larvicide and adulticide, and then sends them out to contaminate every other breeding site within ~400 feet. The result: a self-amplifying mosquito kill zone around your property.
Service includes:
- Initial property assessment for placement strategy
- Installation of 3–8 stations depending on yard size
- Monthly maintenance and re-baiting
- Free additional fogging treatment if mosquito pressure spikes
Mosquito Fogging Treatment — $75–$150 per treatment
One-time or as-needed yard fogging. Ideal for:
- Outdoor weddings, parties, and events (treat 24 hours before)
- Relief during peak mosquito surges
- Properties that don't require monthly service
Our fogging uses EPA-registered pyrethroids applied as a fine mist that settles on vegetation and kills adult mosquitoes on contact. The treatment provides 14–28 days of residual protection.
Mosquito-Conducive Conditions in Miami Yards
To get long-lasting results, we identify and recommend fixes for breeding sites on your property:
- Bromeliads holding water in leaf axils (huge breeding sites in South Florida)
- Clogged gutters and roof drains
- Saucer trays under potted plants
- Pool covers, tarps, kiddie pools, and bird baths
- French drains, low spots, and standing irrigation puddles
- Septic tank vents and AC condensate drains
